Thus I find it strange for one to "major in quantum mathematics". Or perhaps I am just ignorant. So I went on looking for the papers she published. I also know what getting a PhD and doing PhD research entails, as that is a career path I seriously considered for years. First wiki all, when you pursue a PhD you don't have a "major", you have a "field". A major is a fairly broad area, like Biology or Sociology that you dive into and learn about from various perspectives. When you get a Bachelor's, you have a major. For example, I wiki in math, but if I had gotten a PhD, I would have done it in the field of Ranking Theory. At the very least, the person who wrote her Wikipedia page clearly does not understand the nature of a PhD or how academic research works, so that information is certainly suspect. Also, the paper you linked to is not published in a peer-reviewed journal and the abstract seems simplistic for something written by a PhD candidate. It gives off the impression of being more like a senior thesis Bachelor's degree rather than a PhD thesis. A decent amount of her discussions about the standard theories are pretty decent if vaguebut she doesn't demonstrate a deep manahel of any of these topics, and her justifications for disregarding the standard methods are pretty weak.
